Opportunity Details:

Position Title: Medical Director - BC Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Our comprehensive pediatric programs and services are designed to bring hope and healing to children and adolescents who face complex psychiatric, behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders. We strive to cater our approach to treatment to the needs of each child who comes into our care.

Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6 17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental health programs for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Position Overview:

  • Employment Type: Hospital Employed, onsite only
  • Schedule / Hours: Monday-Friday day shift, shared weekend call 1:4
  • Patient Volume: Varies by census, negotiable
  • Location: Atlanta, GA
  • Practice Setting: As Medical Director, you will be over Acute Inpatient and Residential Treatment teams with Inpatient Acute daily caseload. The daily caseload will vary by census.
  • Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BC Psychiatrists, BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers and Therapists
  • EMR / Technology: HCS
  • Growth & Development: Leadership and advancement opportunities within an ever-growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Your role will encompass admission evaluations and assessments, managing treatment teams, overseeing discharge processes, and performing related administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and support staff.
  • 20-25 hours per month of administrative duties.
  • Physician and NP supervision.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry required.
  • Must have interest and experience with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Active or eligible GA license
  • Active DEA
